Further information

Baldwin, Rachel

I have cared for lots of boys and girls from around 4 months to 10 years of age. I originally qualified as a childminder in 1996 and joined the Southampton Childminders’ Association Committee and also completed an NVQ3. After a break I have happily returned to childcare, and completed the childminding course: Skills for Professional Childminding Practice.

I have an elderly cat called Lottie who is friendly but shy so tends to stay out of the way during the day. I also have a younger cat called Hank and a dog called Lucy both of whom are friendly and sociable.

This setting has signed up to offer Tax Free Childcare.

Notes

I have lots of toys including art and craft materials, construction, small world, books, games, puzzles, dressing up clothes and outdoor toys. I also have a lovely garden which includes a swing and a large trampoline (with an enclosure for safe bouncing)! I have a grown up son , and a daughter at school who loves having friends round to play. We like to get out to the park for a bit every day, and we enjoy whole days out in the holidays, having picnics and visiting different parks and play centres. As a childminder, I provide a service that is very much tailored to the few children I care for. I try to be as inclusive as possible and practical, given the constraints of my home, and would happily undertake further training in order to care for a child with additional needs should the need arise. I try to offer a flexible service, so please do call for an informal chat. I am network accredited and able to accept 3 year old funding Open during School Holidays, willing to discuss other hours to accommodate shift workers, etc. I offer flexible care for older children.
