Plants For People

Have you ever thought about developing a patch of land to create a garden which the community can enjoy? Our Community Horticulture project is doing just that!

Mayfield Nurseries and Southampton City Council are working in partnership to make a positive difference to the outdoor spaces and improve the wellbeing of residents living on council estates in Southampton. This project is supporting residents to create new gardens and communal areas, to learn new skills and to develop the confidence needed to continue their projects.

As part of the project Mayfield Nurseries visits weekly to various city wide locations (see below for areas). Why not drop in and get involved?

Learn new skills, meet other members of the community, help to enhance the outside space, get some fresh air!
