Southampton Music Services

Southampton Music Services, part of Southampton City Council's Children and Families Service, is responsible for supporting music in schools, for peripatetic instrumental and vocal tuition and for the bands, choirs and orchestras in the city available to children and young people.

Over the years, Southampton has built up a reputation as the finest city in the country for music provision. Our job is to ensure it continues to flourish. The City of Southampton Music Service exists to support and develop the full musical potential of all Southampton's young people. This will be achieved by ensuring: Curricular Provision in Schools. Entitlement to a high quality, exciting, experiential, broadly based music curriculum for all children from 4 to 14.
