Bookstart

Bookstart is a national programme that encourages parents to share and enjoy books with their children, from as early an age as possible. We aim to provide a free pack of books to every baby in the UK, to inspire, stimulate and create a love of reading that will give them a flying start in life.

Benefits: Sharing books with babies and toddlers is a wonderful way to increase language skills and help them understand the world around them. Research shows that babies and toddlers who love books begin reading sooner and go on to read better at school, in all areas of the curriculum.

Bookstart is for every baby. We deliver our first pack of books to babies usually aged around 8 months old. Additional packs are then gifted to pre-school children around 3 years old.
