OPAL- Age Concern Hampshire

The OPAL Project (Older People's Area Link) aims to reduce social isolation among older people and promote their mental wellbeing.  It has especially trained OPAL volunteers to put them in touch with local groups, activities and services.  Clients can refer themselves through Age Concern Hampshire by using the free phone telephone number or accessing online.

Assistance is provided at two levels.  Initially trained information and advices service volunteers can provide the caller with information about services and activities that are available in their local area.  If an individual needs more support, than an OPAL volunteer can visit them at home and spend more time helping them.

There is a minimum age limit of 50.

Please note that OPAL covers the Hampshire County Council area but does not cover the Southampton City and Portsmouth City areas.
