Child Law Advice Line

The Child Law Advice Line provides free information and advice to children, parents, carers and professionals on all issues of law and policy affecting children. Parents ring us for advice on issues to do with parental responsibility, contact between parents and children or residence issues after separation or divorce.

Other issues that come up frequently are adoption, children in care, crime, schooling and child employment. We help parents to understand the facts about the law and children's rights. Our advice line particularly supports vulnerable families, such as those with children who are being bullied or have special educational needs, to ensure that they can access the services and support to which they are entitled.
