At Minstead Trust we provide training and support for people with learning disabilities to enable them to develop new skills, lead fulfilled lives and achieve greater independence.
Our community groups are designed to give those who may not have much support to have a weekly group where they can make friends, meet new people and also learn new skills and get advice.
Our current community groups as follows:
- Hythe - Friendship and Advice. Wednesday 2-4pm at St John's Church, New Road, Hythe, SO45 6BP. Run by a trained support worker
- Romsey - Friendship and Advice. Thursday 5-7pm at Romsey Methodist Church, The Hundred, Romsey SO51 8BZ. Run by a trained support worker
- Eastleigh - Talk it, Do it. Friday 1-2.30pm The Centenary Hall, 44 Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh SO50 5JH
- Totton - 1pm-3pm at Totton Community Centre (near the Library). Run by a trained support worker
We also run a community theatre group where people with learning disabilities can learn drama skills and work towards a short performance to friends, family and carers. The group runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost is £4.50 a session.
