NSPCC Face to Face

Face to Face will provide up to eight sessions of individual support for looked after children to help with their problems. The intervention will use a solution focused approach. The service is led by the young person, and we offer them help in finding solutions to problems affecting their safety and emotional wellbeing. The service will help to build the child's resilience so they are better equipped to cope with any future problems.

Referral Details

The young person can refer themselves, or a professional can make the referral on their behalf, by contacting the NSPCC service centre. NSPCC staff will then contact the child or young person by phone and arrange to meet them either at the NSPCC's service centre or at a safe place that is convenient for them.

Any Other Notes

We will help looked after children resolve the issue they want help with so that problems do not escalate and further harm is prevented. By exploring positive experiences in the young person's life, the sessions will:

  • identify what they want to change, as well as the support they feel will keep them safe and free from harm
  • help the young person develop a plan to access further support if necessary and identify where further support from local agencies with access to more specialist provision may be needed.
