Autism Alert Programme
- Autism Alert Card
- Autism Alert Car Sticker
- Autism Alert App
The alert programme helps people if they need to identify that they are on the autism spectrum or need to share information about their autism. The programme was developed by Autism Hampshire and Hampshire Constabualry to support people in case of an incident with the police or emergency services, but has proved to have many uses. One card user told us:
“I keep the card in my hand when I know I am going into a situation I will find stressful, so I can show it quickly.”
Please contact the Autism Hampshire Community Access team for more information about how to apply for any of the following.
Autism Alert Card
This yellow card can be carried at all times and shown in the case of an incident or situation. The Police or other professionals will be able to support the person in an appropriate manner and contact a named person listed on the back of the card.
Autism Alert Car Sticker
The yellow Autism Alert Car Sticker is to be placed with information facing inwards, blank side outwards, in the bottom left hand corner of the windscreen. In the event of a road traffic accident, emergency services would be able to identify that a person on the autism spectrum may be on board.
Autism Alert App
This enables people on the autism spectrum to share information about their autism. The app can be used free of charge by local young people and adults, who can chose which information to include.
