Life Changes Counselling - offers low-cost, short-term, face to face counselling that is open to adults over 18. All those seeking counselling are asked to make a donation towards the service.
Covid-19 update.
Life Changes Counselling is offering counselling sessions to adults (18+) by Zoom and over the phone. We are a general service working with clients experiencing a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationships, abuse, trauma, stress, financial, self-esteem, self-harm, panic, sexuality, mental health, gender, and more.
Counselling is delivered by volunteers who are experienced qualified counsellors in the final stages of their training. All our currently active counsellors have undertaken additional training to work safely and ethically with clients remotely. All our counsellors receive fortnightly clinical supervision to help them work safely and effectively with clients.
Through counselling, you will have the opportunity to gain more insight into yourself, your situation and the way you relate to others. You will be able to explore different ways of looking at your life and the choices you make. Your counsellor will help you in this, and in your move towards making your own decisions, and perphas taking more control over your own life. He/she will support you, but will not judge you, give you advice, or tell you how to lead your life. Counselling is not a treatment that you undergo, but a process which you take part in.
Life Changes Counselling aims to offer low-cost affordable counselling to everyone in the community who needs it. The majority of our funding comes from client donations. We suggest donations based on whether a person is working full-time or part-time or not working (on benefits, student, retired), suggestions based on a scale of £5 to £30 per session.
