The Workforce Development Courses including Foster Care & Adoption Courses

We regularly add new courses, and occasionally have to make changes to existing courses throughout the year. If you would like to be updated with these changes please
sign up to receive these updates.

How to book

Please note if you are a Foster Carer/Adopter email directly with the exact course title.

For all other courses we have an electronic booking form that is simple and quick to complete and submit online, direct to our mailbox.

An online booking form must be completed for all courses and should only be submitted with the agreement of your manager, and in the case of non-Southampton City Council employees, whoever will pay for the course. Submission of a booking form does not guarantee a place. We will send an email with a word document attached to inform you whether or not we have been able to meet your request.

Our correspondence will be with the email address given on the booking form and it is the responsibility of the email recipient to ensure the necessary people are aware of our correspondence.  If you have not heard from us, at least two weeks before the course start date, contact us as quickly as possible to confirm whether you have a place:
training.support@southampton.gov.uk

How to pay

Invoice
We can invoice organisations and businesses.  We will invoice you once the course has started. If you do not attend and have not informed us in writing, you will still be invoiced for the place.

Card
You can pay by card.  Details on how to do this will be sent with your confirmation letter.

Maintained Schools
Payment will be claimed through internal journal transfer following management approval.

Southampton City Council employees
SCC employees should in the first instance check if Learning and Development are offering the training that they need.  If the course you require is not offered by L&D, Southampton City Council staff may book onto a course. Please note a journal transfer from your team may be required.

If you would like to enquire about any of the courses, please email training.support@southampton.gov.uk or call us on the relevant number. Telephone numbers are available below.
