Before starting an award, please contact the Southampton Healthy Early Years Award team to inform them of your intention to commence. HEYA@southampton.gov.uk

The Healthy Early Years Awards in Physical Activity are designed to support reflective practice; a key area for completion of the award. At bronze level you will be gathering information and views of parents and staff, assessing your current provision and developing your policy to meet the HEYA Physical Activity Standards and the UK Chief Medical Officers' Physical Activity Guidelines. At silver level, you will be working on areas of development identified at bronze and further areas identified as a result of HEYA physical activity training. You will complete an action plan to address all areas identified and to meet all silver standards. You will be strengthening and monitoring the skills and opportunities offered in the setting and increasing your communication to parents and carers to support healthy choices for physical activity in the setting and at home.
