Southampton is part of a Pan Hampshire ambition to create an ‘ACEs Aware’ workforce that recognises and understands the impact of trauma on children, parents and vulnerable adults. This ambition recognises that professionals will have varied levels of understanding already, but is intended to start a conversation about our way of working and potential to improve outcomes for service users. The training is for any person’s working with children, parents or vulnerable adults in a professional capacity or as a volunteer. This includes, social workers(Adults and Children’s), family workers, Police Staff, engagement staff from arts and cultural settings, sports and recreation services, public health and criminal justice professionals.
ACEs awareness is part of a suite of new training offer delivered by a range of partnership staff and trainers that is intended to support the growth in restorative ways of working with children, families, vulnerable adults and each other.
