Children's Health - Is my child well enough to go to school or their childcare setting?

Most parents and carers worry about whether their child is well enough to go to school or their childcare setting - or when they should return after an illness.

This chart, Child Health Advice for Parents - Jan 2018 (PDF 298KB), provides information to help you make that decision.

The information included is a guide and has been checked by health professionals, however if you are unsure about your child’s wellbeing we recommend you contact your pharmacy or GP to check.

To protect your child, NHS England advise parents of children starting pre-school or nursery to contact their GP practice to check that their child's immunisations are up-to-date before they start preschool or nursery.

The NHS has produced some winter wellness resources, to coincide with Self Care Week (12-18 November 2018) including the take up of the flu vaccination and ways people can look after their health and wellbeing during the winter months.
